APPENDIX C:  DEFENSIBLE SPACE AND HAZARD ASSESSMENT
FOR THE WILDLAND/URBAN INTERFACE


Appendix C consists of a reproduction of a 10 page portion of a larger publication entitled Wildland / Urban Interface Fire Protection: A National Problem With Local Solutions (Textbook), a 1989 publication of the National Fire Academy, Federal Emergency Management Agency. The National Fire Academy is located at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, MD. Specifically, the reproduction consists of a cover page plus pages 2-13 through 2-21 of this textbook, and encompasses the section entitled "Assessing the Interface".

The course was developed through an interagency agreement between these two agencies and through an Office of Personnel Management contract with the University Research Corporation.

It is not reproduced in this online version of the Central Pine Barrens Fire Management Plan, but is available in the printed copy of the Fire Management Plan available from the Commission office.
