The Central Pine Barrens Joint Planning and Policy Commission created the Protected Lands Council, the Law Enforcement Council and the Wildfire Task Force to help coordinate land use, land management and law enforcement among the various agencies and entities with jurisdiction in the Central Pine Barrens region. Each of these councils has been integral in carrying out initiatives supporting the goals of the Long Island Pine Barrens Protection Act and the Commission’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan to ensure the protection of the unique natural resources of the Central Pine Barrens region for future generations.
Information on each of these councils can be found on this website under Our Work or through the links provided above.
